The Mount of Olives
These three photos were taken looking east from the Lutheran Church tower the Old City.

This is the view looking northeast. The tower on the crest of the Mount of Olives (actually Mount Scopus) toward the left of the photo is part of the Hebrew University's Mount Scopus campus. Part of the BYU Jerusalem Center is visible as a row of thick black dots, just below the crest of the Mount of Olives, almost dead-center in the photo. |

This is the view looking due east from the Lutheran Church tower. The temple mount and the Dome of the Rock are clearly visible in the center of the photo. The steeple of the Church of the Ascension is jutting up from the crest of the Mount of Olives. As the Mount of Olives dips down toward the right (south) edge of the photo, the Dead Sea can barely be seen on the distant horizon. |

This is the view looking east and slightly south from the Lutheran Church tower. The Dead Sea, and the mountains of Jordan, are slightly visible in the distant background. |
